My name is John Hundley and I am writing this on behalf of the General Russell E. Dougherty Squadron of the Arnold Air Society (AAS), an extra-curricular society working within U.S. Air Force ROTC Detachment 290 at the University of Kentucky.   In addition to advocacy of air power, our organization is dedicated to professionalism and service, and our membership is committed to exemplifying by conduct and action the second core value of the United States Air Force – “Service Before Self.”  Our squadron intends to become more involved in the state of Kentucky and truly make an impact.  I heard about the Tough Mudder event from my father who is competing in the event on Oct 20 21, and after looking into it, interested in the possibility of volunteering, I learned that the event is benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project.  This is definitely a project my Squadron would love to support, in addition to the physically challenging, military-style obstacle course, the Tough Mudder event itself.
I know the event is less than a month away now.  We are willing to do whatever you all would need us to do.  We really want to get involved!  I sent an email volunteer request using the tough mudder event page but havent recieved a response.

I have an idea that I hope you all can allow us to do that I think would be really great; if the Tough Mudder staff would assign one particular obstacle to our Squadron for us to all volunteer at together that would be great!  In addition to whatever is required for volunteers to do at that particular obstacle, I'm thinking we could pass out water/gatorade, motivate the participants, play Air Force running cadence songs (jodies) over speakers, put up signs/banners representing ROTC to show our support of Tough Mudder and the Wounded Warrior Project, etc.  We would wear our uniforms to show our Military pride.  Would love to hear from someone!  jhundley92@gmail.com

Hello Miss Daniella,

My name is 2LT Elisha Crossley. I read that you were the event organizer for the Tough Mudder in GA on April 6&7 in the newsletter. I have been trying to volunteer my Signal Basic Officer Leader Course class members as a group for the event for 4 weeks now and have gotten nothing back. I have sent emails and have gotten no reply. Could you please advise me on this situation? Elisha.crossley@us.army.mil
