Ok so last weekend I ran my first ever obstical course run, called Ruckus Run. Ruckus was a two mile run with 17 obsticals. It was a lot harder than I expected. I need to work on upper body strength very badly. I had a blast running and did much better than I thought I would do with things like the vertical walls. I feel good and I have kicked up my training a few notches. October is right around the corner and I have a lot of work to do.

Some days I will run in the morning and then again in the afternoon. I have also started doing P90X on my on-duty days and I really like it a lot. My…

I am a firefighter by trade. Back in October of 2011 I went to work like any other day. We got a call to assist another fire district with a car fire. I pulled on my turnout gear and sucked my gut in to snap my bunker pants and zip up my coat. After the call my Captain and I looked at each other, both of us out of breath and not feeling so hot. I said "man this is crazy, we gotta do something".
The next morning I stepped into the scale and it read 352 pounds. Although I was 25 pounds…
