"I just wanted to drop a line and tell you that Tough Mudder probably saved my wife’s life.

My team ran the Mudder in Sarasota, FL on December 1^st. We made it six and a half miles before my wife could not go on anymore due to chest pains. Which lead to a trip to the ER.  After many tests, weeks now months later it was determined that she has a small tear in one of her arteries. You are probably thinking how in the heck did the Mudder help? Well, the fact the she exerted herself to that level caused that tear in her heart to reveal itself. The doctor said that most people would never know it’s there until it’s too late because the heart has to be stressed pretty hard for a long period of time (insert Mudder here).

Needless to say she was and is still pissed she did not finish. Team members got her a head band and she does not want it because she feels she has not earned it. Once she has surgery and has the green light form the Dr. we plan on running it again with even a bigger team later this year."
